FRUIT TREES AND SOFT FRUIT BUSHES

There are some fruits that grow on trees. The trees may be large or small. The small trees are called the dwarf trees. For large trees it needs larger space to grow. But dwarf trees can be easily grown in small space. Fruits that grow on bushes or shrubs are called the fruit bushes. Such fruits are usually the soft ones so they are also called the soft fruits. Soft fruits that grow on bushes are strawberries, black berries, raspberries, red currants, black currants, cranberries, figs etc. These fruits always occupy exclusive position in the garden.

The fruit trees that are usually sold in the plant nurseries are the apples, plums, peaches, apricots etc. these fruits grow on trees. As compared to these fruits, fruit bushes are easier to grow. They are easy to grow and they also start bearing fruits one year after plantation. The most important benefit of growing fruit bushes is that they require very less space to grow. They can be grown in containers, baskets, pots etc. They are beautiful and rich in taste and nutrition. Even they also require very little care. Therefore it is the biggest quality of the fruit bushes that they are very easy to raise. You don’t need to go for cross pollination to get different varieties.

Fruit bushes are no doubt the garden’s favorite items. These are attracted by everyone because they are eye catching. So the gardeners who are planning to start plantation either as a profession or just a leisure time activity, must go for fruit bushes first because they are easy to grow and very rarely need pest spraying. They are best for the decoration of the garden. They can be used as fence, barriers or hedges too. There are many plant nurseries in the town from where any one passionate for gardening and plantation of fruits can purchase fruit trees and bushes. The nurserymen over there also give guidance for the plantation.

Blueberries produce fruits for 40 to 50 years. There are some kinds of blueberries. These are high bush, low bush and hybrid half-high. All the fruit plants need full sun. There is a season of producing fruits of each plant. Some produce fruits in summers, some in spring. Blueberries can produce fruits in late summers too and currants bloom very early in the spring. But blackcurrants produce fruits in midsummer. Soft fruits are very delicious in taste. Home grown fruits taste superb and are great value too.
